Wythe County Board of Supervisors Commend’s State Championship Swimmer

WYTHEVILLE, Va. – The Wythe County Board of Supervisors recently recognized George Wythe High School Freshman Tatum Robinson, who won the 2018-2019 VHSL 1A/2A State Championship in the 200 Meter Individual Medley.
Robinson is the first Wythe County athlete to capture a swimming state championship.
Robinson was recognized by the Wythe County Board of Supervisors with a Resolution commending her success on March 26, 2019.
A portion of the resolution reads: The Wythe County Board of Supervisors officially commend Tatum Robinson for her outstanding dedication, athletic ability, and sportsmanship.
Robinson completed an outstanding 2018-2019 swim season and advanced to the Regional 2C meet and placed first in the 100 meter Breast Stroke, 200 meter Individual Medley, and was a member of the 200 Free Relay team.
Tatum advanced to the 2018-2019 Virginia High School League State Class 1A/2A Swim & Dive Championship in Richmond, Virginia on February 14, 2019.
Tatum defeated the competition capturing the 2018-2019 VHSL 1A/2A State Championship in the 200 Meter Individual Medley with a time of 2:11:09.
