Job Description

SUMMARY: SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an immediate opening for a General Manager for The Appalachian Regional Exposition Center (“APEX” Center) in Wytheville, VA. Under the supervision of the Regional Vice-President, and reporting to the Appalachian Regional Exposition Center Authority (the “Client”), this position will manage the day-to-day operations of the multi-purpose APEX Center to include main arena and all surrounding grounds. Additional phases will include livestock barns and outdoor arenas. This position will supervise the Operations Manager, Accounting Manager, Operations Supervisor, and unskilled and seasonal staff members and volunteers. The APEX Center will operate on a seven day per week schedule, including weekends and holidays.
